Ashley and Daniel thought they knew what to expect when they scheduled a caesarian section for their second baby, but baby girl had other plans! Ashley, unexpectedly, went into labor just days before her c-section date and they welcomed baby Clare into the world on September 5th, 2023.
Big brother Wesley is loving his new role in the family, doting on his new little sister. The day of our session, he didn’t seem to mind that his soccer game was rained out as it gave us all more time to play together and gave him more time to give her a little extra big brother love.
Ashley and Daniel are amazing at giving big brother Wesley their attention, whether it is taking the time to watch him build a Lego set or checking on the shipping status of his Mandalorian Halloween costume. (Can you guess what baby Clare will be for Halloween??)
Wesley enjoyed his wonderful big brother gift to love on too, and he truly seemed to enjoy all the family cuddles. And as the whole family gathered in Clare’s nursery, he was thoughtful to turn on her mobile for her to enjoy the quiet music and dancing elephants and butterflies.
It’s the calm and quiet moments that let us soak in all the newborn details . . . the way they smell, they’re tiny fingers and toes. While Clare may not be letting Ashley and Daniel get much sleep yet, they seemed to embrace a slow day with nowhere to be, soaking in all the sweet moments.
