A Growing Family & Adventure | Down's Park Maternity Session

When Heather, Adam and Addison joined me at Downs Park in Pasadena, Maryland on a September evening, the weather was gorgeous, the park was quiet and Addison brought all of her energy! We met up to capture maternity photos for their second little one, who is due to join us late October.

Heather, Adam and Addison moved to Maryland just this summer, from Texas, to be closer to both of their parents. They are happy to be close to family again, as they become a family of four.

We started our session in the meadows where Addison explored the flowers and helped “cut” the grass. Heather and Adam gave each other affectionate kisses and laughing glances as we all enjoyed Addison’s antics.

Then it was time to travel to the other side of the park, where our destination for the evening was the beach at Downs Park. We stopped briefly as we noticed the sun flooding beautiful light through the woods, too beautiful to pass on some portraits in that pretty light.

Then we made our way to the beach, where Addison was instantly at home. We took advantage of the variety of backdrops, starting with the flowing beach grasses. Addison was happy to give a few hugs and kisses before she was intent on getting her toes in the sand, and exploring the beach.

Heather perched upon the rocks watching her daughter play in the small waves that lapped the sand, and Adam joined her for a few quiet moments together, thinking about what the future held for them as Addison becomes a big sister.

We ended our evening by dancing on the shore as the sun sank below the trees. We marveled at the waves caused by a large ship offshore, and Adam, Heather and Addison enjoyed the love and laughter they were able to share on a perfect evening at the park.

Heather and Adam, thank you for giving me the honor of capturing your family as it grows. You were a joy to spend the evening with and Addison was a delight to watch as she explored the beach and went from joyful toes in the waves to all seriousness as the big waves rolled in. I cannot wait to meet baby brother, and look forward to documenting all the love and sweet little details at your newborn session.
